Matt, I'd like to recommend a 3D animation studio since you are a cartoonist. It's called Blender and it's completely free and outdoes the industry standard 3D software which is like $7000.

Hmm... I might give it a shot. I generally prefer two-dimensional animation to three-dimensional, but I've considered using 3D for one of my projects once and it would be nice to have some 3D models to use as reference, at the very least.
