Description

Heather and I have been watching the first season DVDs of Animaniacs and, once again, something has come to mind that I always wondered about.

The Warner Brothers (and Sister) are Toons who were created in the 1930s, right? Okay, the timeline of Animaniacs shows us that cartoons featuring the Warners were still being made well into the 50s as I'm fairly sure I can recall a few "classic" shorts being aired that were in color. However, they also aired a few shorts featuring the Warners that were supposedly from the 1930s. I understand that the Warners have an updated look in their later cartoons, but why is it that they don't look more... well... old-school in their old-school shorts? Yeah, I know... It's a TV show and I shouldn't worry about it, but it bugs me, darn it! For a show that puts as much emphasis into cartoon history as this one did, I could never figure out why they didn't work out a set of character models for the Warners from the different decades that they were in cartoons, much like other Toons of the Golden Era.

Anyway, long story short, this was my attempt at drawing the Warners more like I think they would have looked at their inception.

Haha, I have nothing to say about the aging or anything cause I don't know that much about that stuff, but they totally look awesome and 30s-ish!
